Facebook is taking a cue from Snapchat Stories and Instagram Stories and testing a new feature for Messenger. Dubbed as Messenger Day, the feature lets users upload photos and videos, with filters and doodle on them. You can create slideshow of these photos and videos which will disappear in 24 hours.
Facebook is currently testing Messenger Day only in Poland. Messenger Day feeds are present at the top of the Messenger home screen. Users can see their feed first followed by their friends. Similar to Snapchat, users can respond to an individual photo or video where the conversation will be directed to Messenger. Users can also access stickers, categorized into “I’m feeling,” “Who’s up for?” and “I’m doing,” which feature colorful filters like “so blue,” “road trip”and so on. The social network had acquired video filter app MSQRD in March this year and it might use it for Messenger Day. Facebook tried and failed to purchase Snapchat for $3 billion in 2013.
